Big announcement - this is our new category, where we will describe upcoming projects on Kickstarter, based on the available information from publishers. We will also consider Kickstarter exclusives (there are exclusives, but they will not be included in our top, we will write about them later). For the purpose of evaluating potential projects, we use the following criteria: ■ Marketing strategy. Does the game have to be sold to make money? How does it look if you don't have to sell anything? It looks like a weak attempt to sell a game about arena battles, which in fact only looks interesting for people who have never seen anything like it. ■ Development time. Does the game have to be developed for at least 3 months? Or is it possible to make a basic 2d top-down game and add a bunch of interesting features? The fact is that with a strong sense of proportion, you can make a game with a high development time, but you won't be able to stand out amongst the competition, and your opponent will get a lot of free money. In general, the "development time" should be clearly set up in advance, and carefully measured. It should be in the range of at least 6-9 months, and ideally in the range of 10-12 months. ■ Funding goal. How much does the game need funding for? Most often, a game without a funding goal is just a shiny, glimmer in the darkness. But, at the same time, if the goal is raised above, then it will appear on the following page, and the status of the project will be reviewed. If the goal is not met, the game will be classified as a side project, and its backers will get a small proportion of the final result (see the special tab on the right), but only in this case it will not be necessary, since the project is unlikely to become a full-fledged one. What should I expect from the game? Well, again, you should take a deep breath, and see what surprises are in store for you. The most interesting thing is that the developers have clearly thought through their projects, working out all the kinks and small details. The game is a product of its time, and quite unique in its style, although there are no prerequisites for the game to pass the test of time, unlike "The Walking Dead", for example, which has been tested for a long time and has already found its own fans. There are two ways out of this situation. The first way is to make a game you like, and you can show it causes others to fall in love with you, which will definitely happen if you spend time on it, but it will not be necessary in the end. The second way is to spend money you don't have, buy something you like, and pitch your idea
